Job Description

Forest Coordinator Aceh with a minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in silviculture (example: nursery, restoration), land use planning, environmental management and monitoring, conservation management, HCV HCS; community assistance and have GIS skill (minimum basic mapping – prioritized). The Forest & Carbon Coordinator will have a proven experience in forest management, land use planning, environmental management and monitoring activities for value generation. She/he should be interested in a career with a dynamic non-profit that builds relationships with companies, governments, local communities/farmers and civil society organizations.

The Forest & Carbon Coordinator will work in a team, in close collaboration with the Earthworm Foundation Landscape Team Leader, Livelihood, Social, and Thematic Team. This information will be analysed and presented as a written report covering local conditions but also used to develop future capacity building activities and provide individual coaching.

Responsibilities

• Support Landscape Lead in developing and implementing Forest and Carbon program strategies and workplan according to the landscape context;
• With each landscape manager, co design and develop forest and carbon management, inside and outside concession;
• Conducting technical activities and support for each landscape team to ensure implementation of Forest and Carbon activities is delivered according to the workplan and targets;
• Explore and determine the most efficient, effective and regenerative techniques, equipment and technology to implement Forest and Carbon activities based on Landscape Theory of Change (TOC);
• Conduct engagement and communication with relevant stakeholders to support Forest and Carbon programme, (government, private sector, communities and other NGO), input suppliers, companies, training institutions, etc;
• Contribute in technical reports, within country and globally, on Forest and Carbon aspects.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications

• 8 – 10 years of practical working experience in silviculture (example: nursery, restoration), land use planning, forest development, environmental management and monitoring, conservation management, HCV HCS; community assistance and have GIS skill (minimum basic mapping – prioritized);
• Strong knowledge and understanding governance and institutional contexts, nationally, sub nationally and locally;
• Proven experience in Forest and Carbon activities;
• Experience in working with various stakeholders (e.g. local government, companies, or NGOs) on agriculture/livelihood related activities.

Language skills

• Bahasa and English proficiency
